  • Quick reminder that theIron City Duathlon will be taking place on Sunday June 16. This will result in the road to the Club being closed from 12:30pm - 3:00 pm. If you plan on shooting you must come early or come after 3:00pm to avoid any issues.

  • Please use caution in and around the Club house. There is still material, (both good and waste) to be picked up not to mention there is a large gap now between the Club house and the patio so watch your footing carefully. The inside of the Club still needs to be cleaned up and the furniture / tables repositioned. Again please use caution in these areas.

  • The renovations went really well at the Club this past weekend. The old wall was removed, the new wall erected, complete with a new steel door, and the elevated firing platform in the Sporting Clays course is well underway. The new Wobble Trap machine is installed and needs to be fine tuned to be made fully operational. The biggest projects have now, for the most part been completed. There are always odd jobs and clean-up to do so make sure you volunteer and help out YOUR Club. If you are unsure what you can do do help contact any Exec member for suggestions!
  • Special thanks go to Club members J. Kennedy, C. Moyles, P. Mugford, M. Filippi, A. Gillis, S. Osborne, E. Tremblay, D. Thomas, K. Pomeroy, R. Brazil, J. Bouffard, B. Gavin, B. Elliott for giving up part of (if not all) of their weekend to make this work happen. Thanks a lot guys! Special mention also to Club members K. Connors & Z. Hicks. Although they could not be there to help they provided an ATV trailer (which made moving material & tools to the Sporting Course a lot easier ) and donated the steel door.

June 5, 2008
  • The attachments for the new "Wobble Trap" machine have arrived. Hopefully they will be installed this weekend as there will be no shooting as a result of the renovations going on at the Club house.

June 3, 2008
  • The first centerfire pistol Combat Shoot of the season was held this evening despite the rain / wet snow. Participating shooters expended an average of 250 rounds each and got to practice a variety of static drills, dynamic drills and combinations of both. The class was well attended and everyne had a great time despite the chilly temperature.
  • The new membership cards have now arrived. Completed cards will be left at the Club for existing members to collect them on their next visit.

May 28, 2008
  • Negotiations are underway for the purchase of our raffle prizes for this year's fundraiser. As it stands right now it seems like we will be getting a big screen TV & home theatre system as a grand prize. Depending on total costs we may also be adding a game console (X-box / Wii) and a GPS unit so that there is something there for everyone.
  • We are also discussing the purchase of T-Shirts / Sweatshirts & Decals with the Club logo on them. The final cost of each item will be made available soon and a notification e-mail will be sent to all members. We  will not be stocking these items. There will be a single run of these items this summer and they will only be available as a pre-order  & pre-paid arrangement.
  • The Club web site has been visited by .20 Gauge World Champion Skeet Shooter Louise Lemieux Daoust.  She has left us  a brief message via our guest book. Feel free to read what she has to say and send her a note!
  • Do not forget that the Club web site has a free Buy & Sell section available to all Club members. Send a description along with your name & contact info and they will be added to the page.

The more help the merrier. **(Please note that there will be NO SHOOTING during this work weekend.)**

  • The new "Wobble" trap machine will be shipped to us on Tuesday, May 20. This new machine will add an intersting element to the game of trap as well as eliminating the need of a person in the trap house thanks to the integrally mounted 200 bird carousel.

  • Membership fees are now due. Special shell & bird pricing are available as a privilege to paid members. Please show the Club the same courtesy by paying your dues promptly.
  • Shooters availing of the Trap Boy are required to pay a $5.00 flat rate fee regardless of how many rounds you shoot. Use him for one round or all day / evening it will still only cost you $5.00. Please keep this in mind when paying for your round(s) at the end of a shoot.

  • We have once again secured a 10% discount for Club members at C'est La Vie Sports in Labrador City. This discount applies to all  regularly priced firearms & firearm related items in stock. You Club membership card must be displayed at time of purchase to obtain the discount. Thanks to the new store owner John for supporting us. Please show some patronage to a local supporting business.
  • We are looking for a fridge suitable for our canteen as the old one recently gave up after many years of service. If you have a full size fridge you are willing to donate to the Club please let anyone on the executive know and we will make arrangements to get it picked up.

May 2, 2008
  • A new pay sheet has been implemented at the Club. The new sheets have the rounds shot under one section and the ammunition / consumables listed under a different section (Tab #2 in the binder). A Range Officer is required to "sign off" on the sheet when you pay. If there is no RO signature next to your total, your bill will be considered UNPAID! It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to ensure that a Club RO signs off next to your name when you hand in your money at the end of a shoot.
  • All members / visitors are reminded that they MUST sign the Range Rules Acknowledgement log  located in the front of the sign-in log  on their very first visit to the range. Unlike the sign-in log which requires you to sign in & out at each visit, the Acknowledgement log need only be signed once a year at the beginning of each shooting season.

  • Today was a great first day at the Club! The weather was fantastic and shooters took advantage of it! Lots of birds were dusted (and missed!) on both the Trap & Skeet fields. The Club is now open for business on Sundays only until the grounds dry up a little better and we can get a proper schedule established.
